This May half term come and explore Hainault Forest in a fun and creative way with our self-led Leaf Rubbing Trail with the Woodland Trust.
Pick up your trail sheet, which includes six empty grids and examples of common leaves you might find in the forest. As you wander, keep an eye out for different leaves that match the pictures.
When you find a leaf, simply place it under your sheet and use your crayon to gently rub over one of the grids. Watch as the leaf’s unique pattern appears on the paper!
🍂 How it works:
- Use the examples at the top of your sheet to help identify leaves
- Find six different leaves during your walk
- Rub each one into a grid to create your own forest artwork
This simple activity is perfect for all ages and is a great way to slow down, observe nature more closely, and enjoy your surroundings.
You can pick up a worksheet and a crayon from Hainault forest visitors centre anytime in the week during the half term. No bookings required.
Have fun exploring — how many leaves will you discover?
