one of Hainault Forest’s most well-known features

The lake is popular with both people and wildlife

Dug out using people power back in the early 1900s, the lake now attracts all kinds of water birds. Take some time to see how many you can spot. Some are here all year round, and others drop by for the winter months.

Fancy a Spot Of

Fishing?

Fishing is available on the lake for most of the year between 15 March to 15 June; we follow a closed season 16 May to 15 June each year.

Charges

Day tickets (7am – 7pm) cost £16 for adults, and £10 for seniors, juniors & leisure pass holders.  These can be purchased by popping into the Boathouse at nearby Fairlop Waters.
